Performing Something In Nothing

I love reading to an audience, whether in person or online. And Something in Nothing works really well as a performance, indeed it was written with the sound in mind. In my previous post, you can hear a podcast of a reading I gave at Milton Keynes Lit Fest. Here is what Dave Wakely (online programme manager for the Lit Fest) had to say about my performance:
Zoe's poems take us into the realms of myth and magic, shining a torch into the dark corners that reveal that fairy tales are very much not just for children. And her powerful delivery is as arresting as her words - highly recommended.
I am looking for bookings for readings. Can you help? I have two sets available:
Something In Nothing – a dark journey into fairy tales
Poet Zoe Brooks reads from her new collection Something In Nothing and takes you on a journey into the uncanny, into a world where fairytale characters inhabit a world not so far from our own. There you will meet the serial killer, Bluebeard, the Slavic witch, Baba Yaga, Beauty and Beast, and a godmother without the magic.
This set is designed to work with other readers* and/or open mics.
*I am already working with Anna Saunders, Adam Horovitz, and Sue Johns, and so can offer joint readings.
Some Fairy Tales Are Not For Children
This full-length reading combines poems from Something In Nothing with readings of poems of other poets, who use fairy tales, such as Anne Sexton, Sylvia Plath, and Anna Saunders.
Both readings can be combined with a workshop on using fairy tales in your poetry.
Please note the target audience is adult on all these readings.
Please contact zoebrookspoetry@gmail.com to discuss.
